Purpose
The purpose of this course is to describe and understand what IoT is, to know its uses and to learn how to develop different process or service data acquisition applications.
Because IoT is the Internet of things: having electronic devices collecting data and grouping them in a space to analyze both the data collected instantly and its evolution over time. And for sure, no matter what field of work we are in, with direct and up-to-date data that generates valid information, it will be easier to make the best decision.
In the current framework of digitization and Industry 4.0, new communication and data capture systems appear that allow us to know much better and at the moment the use made of many services, spaces or the state of many devices : How many people have entered the establishment, what are the busiest times? Do you need to water the city gardens? What is the current production of our manufacturing lines? How many hours did the air conditioning work today? Will the machine bearings need to be changed soon?
Objectives
Offer an overview of the concepts and challenges of the transformative economy of
the Internet of Things.
Who is the target audience?
This course is aimed at those responsible for processes and services in any public or private, industrial or commercial field who need to know and improve quality, costs, productivity, OEE, energy consumption, resource needs, use of the service…
It is also aimed at people interested in IoT applications and who want to know the way to start IoT: the connection of sensors, the selection of electronic devices and the acquisition and visualization of the collected data
It is not required to have specific computer programming knowledge (although we will see examples), but computational processes will be analyzed: it will be programmed through the Node-Red low code tool; and you will see storage databases. In both cases, a practical introduction will be given.
