Workshop on 3D printing with Direct Ink Writing Technology

We develop new 3D printing systems with Direct Ink Writing or Robocasting technology, based on the needs of researchers. Currently, the most common application with this technology is the production of compatible tissue implants. In our Pilot Plant we have the ideal equipment to carry out the most competitive projects of the moment.

As a result, we organized this scientific and technical conference “Scientific Advances and 3D Printing” where the advances in research in the fields of biomedicine, plastics industry and materials engineering, where 3D printing plays a key role, will be highlighted.

PROGRAM

The program includes three presentations in each of the fields and a round table where the expected developments in the medium and long term horizon will be discussed. Finally, there will be a visit to our facilities to showcase our capabilities and see first-hand the latest technical advances in DIW technology. We will end with an aperitif and networking.

The program for the day will be as follows:

09.15 – 09.45 h – Reception of attendees.

09.45 – 10.00 h – Welcome and presentation by Felip Fenollosa (Director of Research at CIM UPC).

10.00 – 11:30 h – Presentations and round table:

  • BBT (Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering): 3D printing of complex structures with ceramic, polymeric and metallic inks for biomedical applications.
  • AIMPLAS (Instituto Tecnológico del Plástico): Hybrid additive manufacturing for 3D printing of sensors in the field of Soft Robotics.
  • CIEFMA (Center for Structural Integrity, Reliability and Micromechanics of Materials): Additive manufacturing of monoliths by Direct Ink Writing for catalytic applications in the energy sector.
  • Round table with the speakers, facilitated by Roger Uceda (Director of Transfer and Valorization at CIM).

1.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. – Visit to the facilities and latest technical advances in DIW technology.

12.00 – 13.00 h – Coffee break. Networking and personalized consultation.
