SUMMSEED - Sustainable medium manganese Steels for cost-efficient applications in heavy industries.
The SUMMSEED project aims to develop steel with medium manganese (MMnS) adapted to industrial processes of casting and remanufacturing by 3D printing (DED), offering a more sustainable and economical alternative to traditional steels. These new materials will combine high resistance, ductility and durability, and can be applied to both manufacturing and component repair, promoting the circular economy. The project is committed to a transversal approach, from the design of the alloy to the final validation, with positive impacts on emissions, resources and employment in the European steel sector.
